OJOS DEL SALADO
It is the highest volcano in the world and the second highest peak after Aconcagua.
The climb is technically simple, the only difficulties are the solitude, the altitude and the changing weather conditions .

PLAN
DAY 1
Arrival at the airport of the city of La Rioja and transfer to the hotel Reina Mora***
DAY 2
After breakfast we leave for the village Cortaderas 3400mts. 6 hours by car.
Once at the hotel in the afternoon we do acclimatization towards 3800 MTS.
Night at the hotel Cortaderas.
DAY 3
Acclimatization day.
We leave by car towards the San Francisco 1 pass. 30 hours by car to find the beginning of the Trek. We go towards 4500 meters.
Return to the hotel Cortaderas
DAY 4
Acclimatization day. This time we take the car towards the road that leads to Pisis and after 1.20 by car our Trek begins to reach 5200 meters.

DAY 5
Departure to our first mountain Chucula 5950 meters
This day we meet with the porters and we all go together to set up the base camp at 4500 meters.

After dismantling the tents we prepare all the material for the combination to the high camp 5150 meters 3 hours of walking.

DAY 7
Early in the morning summit attempt to Chucula. Day of 9 to 12 hours ascent and descent to the base camp. Once at the base we leave for the Cortaderas hotel

DAY 8
We calmly prepare all the material for the approach to our objective Ojos del Salado.
After 4 hours of driving we make a camp at 4500 to continue with the acclimatization.

Departure after dismantling the camp towards the base camp of Ojos del Salado 5500 meters.

After midday we go towards the high camp 5850 meters where we make the summit attempt.
DAY 11
At 4 in the morning departure towards the summit of Ojos del Salado 6890 meters. Day of 8 hours of climbing and 4 hours of descent. This time we go directly to the base camp.

After dismantling the camp return to Fiambala 7 hours by car.
